    Default Advanced System Protector

Can someone fix the false positive given for Advanced System Protector? It's an application to protect against Malware and Registry Hacks like the European FBI trick hack!

    tashi,

I did not experienced any of those problems with systweak. In fact systweak found things Windows Defender "overlooked". It was the only application that found the three variations of the FBI Scam used by that dude in Eastern Europe. SpyBot didn't either. So if it works as advertised and I am not experiencing the problems like the person in Orlando what is my next move? It seems from your links I should remove systweak.

    I await your answer sir/madam!

As shown in the links provided one issue people reported was that indeed it found problems other applications didn't.

No-one is advising you to remove your programs, your software is your choice.

However you posted in the false positives forum.

FYI for any user, there are various ransom malware infections purporting to be from the FBI.

    Note:
Once infected, the victim’s computer immediately locks, and the monitor displays a screen stating there has been a violation of federal law.
    http://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2012...-internet-scam

Be aware that even if you are able to unfreeze your computer on your own, the malware may still operate in the background.
In which case please see the Malware Removal Forum sticky which includes guidelines and instructions in post #2 on how to provide the preliminary DDS and aswMBR logs used for analysis.

    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288

Then start a new topic as shown in that FAQ along with a description of the computer's symptoms and a volunteer analyst will assist when available.

If the infection prevents you from running DDS and/or aswMBR please start a topic and make note of the situation, provide details of the computer's current symptoms and wait for a response.

    Best regards.
