    Default lots of errors left.

I opened a file yesterday and suddenly found my computer going to shock from the overload. i quickly ran through task manager shutting down any processes that were running w/ high CPU. shut down any scheduled tasks since i don't know what was there before. i ran spybot, CC cleaner and windows defender one at a time and cleaned most of the noise off. but i cant seem to rid myself of some of the stuff and looking over the reports, i see that i have quite a few corrupt files. Hoping I don't have to take it in, but I'm scared to shut it down. Hoping someone could have a look see... Let me know what you need to help you. This is my first time so although i did get copies of the reg backup and other scans, i'm not sure this is the place to post them. Thanks in advance!

    What kind of file?

To request assistance in the malware removal forum please see the FAQ which includes guidelines in post #1 and instructions in post #2 on how to provide the logs from Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and aswMBR, which are the logs used in the preliminary analysis.

    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288

Then start a new topic providing the logs so a volunteer analyst may advise when available.

    Best regards.

Thanks for the info, i had read it already but still wasn't sure if i was doing it right.

Guy i know sent me a vid of a moose in a field... looked like it was shot with an old nokia flip. i originally got it on my iphone but wanted to see its properties so i emailed it to myself... I figured this is so old why is this floating around? i thought i was a virus. so i was fiddling with it in notepad++ trying to decode it and finally thought i'd just change the extension. So i knew that if i was running it in notepad++ as "edit in" mode it was safe. except when i changed the extension to .txt I hit Enter twice so i automatically opened up in notepad. except not as edit in mode. the original extension was gp3 or gppp.

haven't asked him about it yet... i doubt he knew, he has an iphone too so he wouldn't know unless he uploaded it to his comp. i'll have to tell him though... make sure he's not emailing it around.
