Yesterday, I renewed my annual Licence for Professional Ediion + AV 2.8
I had to update my existing version of Spybot which did have a working Live Protection.
The updated version will not accept Live Protection despite many attempts.
Looked up some old correspondence about SpyBot Problems and found a suggestion that I should install
SpyBot using Administrator Mode to ensure that it contains all needed bells & whistles.
I am prepared to do this: un-installing the existing files and then re-installing
the downloaded Pro 2.8 (right-clicking on this file and selecting Administrator Mode).
But I do not have a copy of my Licence Code, and do not know if it is included in the downloaded 2.8 exe file.
Would appreciate some guidance from Support on this.
Thanks.
There's a page for lost licenses, CRAGUSBE. You could give that a try:
https://www.safer-networking.org/lost-license/
Or, you can ask support on this page if you prefer, whether it's about the license key or whether you try installing with the installer in administrator mode and live protection driver still does not install:

Where is this fix? I have been dealing with this issue since before the newest 2.8 update(s) and cannot figure it out. I sent my entire log file to the Spybot team and I haven't heard back yet what the results were to fix it. They haven't been able to figure out how to resolve this issue yet. Last I heard from them was a few weeks ago. I am hoping that something is going to be done about this soon as it protects our computer while we use it, so it is driving me crazy that it once worked and now it doesn't. Any other issues with anyone else that can maybe help me resolve this if they got feedback from Rob to make this work? It prompts me to load it and run it but it doesn't actually do anything and when I try to activate it, it doesn't do anything either, from the icon near the bottom of the taskbar. So still waiting patiently with an answer to this. HELP HELP HELP I am still drowning.........
I am having the same exact issue as everyone here in this thread, and no response from CS when I told them their suggestions (that I had already tried and told them I did before contacting them in the 1st place) did not work and since then they have not replied to my emails. If anyone has a fix for this, please help!
I ...um... labored with Support on this issue.
As of this moment, there is no fix.
That out of the way, I got the admission that (summarizing) "lots of people have it". Research seems to be producing nothing in the near term. They are working on it. They seem to be unable to reproduce a solution.
Sounds similar to COVID-19, doesn't it?
Since I, and I suppose most people, can see the problem regularly, I offered to help in debugging. To date, the only bugs I've heard about are crickets. Maybe if we don' talk about it, it'll go away.
I filed my report on 28 April and was forgotten/ignored in early May. Not good, people. Not good. I'm looking closely at Malwarebytes. 'Nuff said.
It's important to know when to stop arguing with people, and just let them be wrong.
I have followed all the guidelines and all the advice given in the thread so far and I still can not install Live Protection. Anyone come up with a reliable solution?
Cheers in advance.
Same issue here - driver can't be installed, live protection not working. Professional edition. Shall I down grade?
