It appears that Lavasoft has ceased providing updates for their SE version, requiring people to update to the seriously bloated 2007.

Never mind the fact my Windows 98 can't run 2007, I don't need the bloatware.

Thank you, Spybot, for supporting us who depend on old computers.

To provide a well rounded security package for my many customers, I've always considered AdAware SE/Personal and Spybot S&D a "Package" deal.
On any one day, both would find things on a previously unprotected computer. Not the same things, mind you.

I find the new Spybot S&D to be very friendly and capable. Adversely, I find the new AdAware 2007 to be too techie for most of my customers.:devil:

So for most users, Spybot S&D will be the last line of defense against Spyware. The new rc1 version takes care of many problems experienced in earlier versions of 1.5. I'm really quite happy with it.

I just hope that more people will do as I did....
get up off of their wallet and make a meaningful donation.

I'm regretful that so many will use the program and complain loudly when there's a glitch, but never donate a dime to keep program development going.
