Can SS&D block (immunize against) this little critter?
Will SS&D work on Windows 7 (32 bit) systems?

Yes,Spybot will work on Windows 7 (32 bit) systems:

(I don't know if Spybot immunizes against Antivirus Studio 2010 or not.)

I did a Google search for "Antivirus Studio 2010"...and found these results. Many talk about removal...but be careful.

On a personal note...I have used results from the "mybleepingcomputer" site in the past with no problems.

I also have trusted "mybleepingcomputer" in the past. What I finally did was resort to a System Restore point 3 hours before the infection. This worked great on my Wife's computer but is not always the best option on mine. This is why I'm asking if this latest "bug" has been entered into anyone's "prevention" abilities. I fixed the Wife's but I want us all protected from it in the future?

Hello,

Please make sure that you have activated the resident protection of Spybot - Search & Destroy.
That's the way to activate it: run Spybot-S&D, switch to the "Advanced mode" via the menu bar item "Mode" --> hit "YES" --> select "Tools" in the navigation bar on the left --> "Resident" and there you can tick the checkboxes in front of the two tools.
Please also immunize your system with Spybot.

Make also sure that your antivirus protection is working and up to date.
