antivirus xp 2008 removal

Hi I just installed spybot and it seems to have removed antivirus xp, but during start up, when spybot is scanning the system, my computer freezes, a blue screen pops up, it says, there's a program trying to access your pc, windows has shut down to prevent further damage, then it reboots, and keeps doing this. I have to switch the pc off, and reboot. Spybot never gets to complete the scan. If I abort the scan, then I can initiate a scan from the spybot program. This again seems to crash half way. when i boot up, i get a pop up saying that antivirus xp cannot load as a file has been deleted, so i'm not sure if maybe there's still something left over. If I leave the computer without activity for some minutes, then it reboots again.
Does any of this make any sense?
I don't know how to access the log.
sorry, this is all new to me, never had this before...

Yes it does, this is nasty junk and it is hard to remove. The first thing you need to do is read the directions posted above and pinned (sticky) to the top of the forum.

Then go here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/malware-removal/antivirus-2008 and follow those directions.

When MBAM is finished and you remove all of the junk it finds, click Save Logfile and post it here.

I will also need a HJT log run AFTER MBAM is finished.
Download Trend Micro Hijack This™ to your Desktop
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/hijackthis/HJTInstall.exe
Doubleclick the HJTInstall.exe to start it.
By default it will install HijackThis in the Program Files\Trendmicro folder and create a desktop shortcut.
HijackThis will open after install. Press the Scan button below.
This will start the scan and open a log.
Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

Don't expect easy, and don't be afraid to ask a friend with more computer experience for help if you need it.
