it is very difficult to open a browser window. These are the symptom, any or all can happen randomly:
1. Click a shortcut icon and wait up to 5 minuets and window opens normally.
2. Click a shortcut icon and the window partially builds and freezes
3. Repeat 2 and after a few minuets opens but also freezes or opens normally
4. Closing a frozen window closes all open windows
5. Every open browser has 2x iexplorer.exe entries in the Task Manager listed under Processes. Closing a working window will close one other
6. Ending a frozen iexplorer.exe in the Task Manager will close all other iexplorer.exe in the list
7. When a window is trying to load or is frozen the green memory usage display in the Task Manage is going wild with the CPU Usage swinging between 10 to 100%, and the red memory usage goes up to 50% (do not know what the red one is for) and continues to do so until the faulty window is closed
I have a laptop and a desktop both with the same symptoms, both machines have very similar programs running. Both have MS Win XP Pro SP2 SBSD v1.3.6.25, AVG, Mailwasher, IE8, Google tool bar.
Even with everything disabled the symptom persist. Because both machines have the same symptom there could be a problem with the Virgin cable router or the Belkin network router. Or there is a software error.
Basically I do not have a clue where to start. Any help will be much appreciated
