Well I have another post that i havent received help with yet but i am patient. ANd from what i could see i could possibly read other peoples....treatments and make some progress. I know i cant bump so I really do have a different question here.

I know that my search bar has been hijacked and funny firewall stuff with AVG is going on.

Is there anyway that i can check to see if someone isnt just sitting there doing something more subversive while i try and disinfect myself/computer?

I tried something called SHieldsUp (free service like spybot) is that a good thing or should i have this computer off the internet?

i guess im paranoid. thanks if you know

Hi,

Those are sure signs of malware.

if someone isnt just sitting there doing something more subversive
Possible, with the right tools.

SHieldsUp (free service like spybot) is that a good thing or should i have this computer off the internet?
ShieldsUp is just a external port checker, there are many other similar sites that will do the same thing as ShieldsUp

should i have this computer off the internet?
For most, this would be the best solution. A non-networked computer is useless to the majority of malware.

So then?

I guess what i meant was

Is the malware that is on my pc.....(win32.AVKILL.SVC) is it a threat to my security or is it just an annoying redirection? I guess im wondering how dangerous/potent it is....its obviously pretty strong....

As shelf life responded to the original topic earlier today this one has been closed. :)
