cant access sypware

I have been able to open any of my spyware or Norton lately. I tried to reinstall it, but still doesn't work. Not computer saavy. Any suggestions?

A little detail please. :)

Operating system.
Security software installed other than Norton.

All the above kept up to date?

Are there symptoms of the computer having been infected ie: popups, general slowdown, browser being redirected.

I have Windows XP Home Edition.
I also have Norton Antivirus - no not kept current.
SpybotS & D
Adware.

Is that what you needed?

Yes computer is somewhat slower..not affecting my internet.
Does not let me office assistant work or allow me to access my desktop properties.

I did as you suggested.
I have the log. Should I post it to you?
And I also bought the Internet Security 2006 by Norton and CAN'T install it.
I did uninstall the old Norton.
Any suggestions,
