Can't install 2.1.21-SR2 on a Windows XP Pro machine

Can't install 2.1.21-SR2; when I try to run the .exe, windows pops up an error message that the file "is not a valid Win32 application", and won't let me continue.

Running Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3.

I this a problem with this release, maybe, or isn't it meant to run on XP?

Oh, also: I re-downloaded from a different mirror location after the first failure, over-wrote the first download, and got the same result the second time. Both were Safer-Networking Ltd. mirrors.

(I just now tried http://www.safer-networking.org/spybot2-own-mirror-3/, and with this one I get error message saying that the setup files are corrupted, and instructing me to obtain a new copy of the program.)

So, I tried the download from http://fastspeedtest.com/spybot/, and that one appears to work -- at least, it's let me get to the setup wizard, which is further than the other three did.
