Curiousity about pre HJT steps

I was reviewing the forums and noticed the section that asks users to take certain steps before running and posting HJT and on-line scanning logs.

One of the steps is to run a scan with Spybot in Safe Mode.

What does running in safe mode do differently than running a "normal" (not in safe mode) scan?

Hello.

While in Safe Mode, only specific programs and files needed to run the operating system are loaded, preventing certain malware from loading at startup and thus making it easier to remove. :)
