Not sure if anyone can help me with this one. have had a look at what is required to remove a Virtumonde virus, but as i am using firefox (because of some kind of system problem (Windows 2000) i am unable to update to EI 6). it says that Kaspersky cannot scan computer. do i have any options? any help is much appreciated, thanks pete...

Hi there.

Please start a topic in the Malware Removal Forum after following instructions here: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) to produce a HiJackThis log,

If you cannot run the Spybot or Anti Virus scan at all, please go ahead and post the HJT log along with a note regarding scan/s failure.

If you can run the Spybot-S&D scan please do so, but either way, don't concern yourself with scans that you cannot do for the moment.
