When I go to update SBSD I get a list of available updates. I check the boxes and after hitting download updates a get a box saying " Cannot open AVI " ?? Any help would be appreciated.
Though I take some credit for helping discover the problem originally, the following post by tactical64 gives a more complete description of a solution by someone who had the problem themself.
It appears the 'Vista Transformation Pack' creates the original problem.
Since no one here has this, we're going by the explanations at the links we gave you. If you want to dig for an easier solution, I'd suggest going to the forum link I originally posted, since they seem to have the most knowledge.
I'm linking you into the thread at the point where 'Windowsx', an apparently knowledgeable forum admin, is discussing 'Vista Video Clips' and where to find this setting. Sounds like you might just be able to uncheck this setting if you can find it? http://www.tcmagazine.info/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=1396&view=findpost&p=9000
If you discover a simpler solution. please return here and post what you find to help others.
Note: The download server can be changed after the "Search for Updates" and before clicking "Download Updates". So if you find a server that works well, you can start by using that server in the future. Also note that if you want (not necessarily recommended) you can select a server and then right click on the button and "Set this server as the preferred download location". If you do that Spybot will select that sever rather than a random server for future updates.
