Error downloading antivirus files

Hello, I recently purchased a license for spybot home so I can get the added benefit of an antivirus with this app however the app is showing some weird behaviour.

First after upgrading to windows 10 the app was deleted from my computer however apparently not full deleted as whenever I tried to reinstall the app from scratch it would mention that an installation was already present and I would have to uninstall that installation prior to reinstalling this app. So I deleted the install from the apps menu and tried again, same issue.

So I decide to install it to a different directory which works. Then I install the license I was mailed into that directory.

Now I've already tried completely reinstalling spybot to try and fix the following issue which is that the antivirus apparently can't update at all and it keeps giving me errors whenever I try to update it.

Also I am unable to use the malware scanner, trying to do so results in the error as shown in the image below

Spybot may not have been reinstalled correctly during the upgrade process to Windows 10. Please uninstall and reinstall Spybot using the instructions below to see if this solves your issue.

Please go to our uninstall tool page at:
https://www.safer-networking.org/support/missing-files/uninstall-tool/

Here, download all 3 files; "unins000.exe", "unins000.msg" and "unins000.dat".

These will download to your Downloads folder or other default location.

Copy these files to your Spybot program folder at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Spybot - Search & Destroy 2

or for 32-bit PCs:
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy 2

If this folder is not present, you will need to create a new folder here, and rename it to "Spybot - Search & Destroy 2".

Once these have been copied, run "unins000.exe" (the one in your Spybot program folder) as an administrator to remove any traces of Spybot from your PC.

You can then download Spybot 2.4 from the link below:
http://spybot-mirror.com/files/spybot-2.4.exe

This can be upgraded to version 2.5 by running this file:
https://www.safer-networking.org/spybot25allocator.php

My issue was resolved through opening spybot as administrator and going to updates through Advanced User mode (bottom left in the main screen)

Not sure if this will resolve the issue for other people experiencing the problem but it might be worth it to try it to see if it resolves the issue
