error installing spybot s&d

I uninstalled because the protection icon on the right (I think it's called teatimer or something) stopped coming up. The idea was to uninstall it, reboot, and re-install the latest.

I now get the error you see in the attached. Your assistance is much appreciated.

Which windows version do you run?
Do you have admin rights?

So have you uninstalled your version already and installed a fresh one?
Please uninstall Spybot - Search & Destroy according to the following link.
Then make a fresh install of Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.6.2.
You will find links to several download locations on our website.

Or choose the direct installation file.

Vista Ultimate - using run as administrator to install

I have done what you suggest and receive the attached error.

Here is my opinion, I have this crazy guess that Teatimer is actually running on your machine (you should check the Windows Task Manager) but [I think] there is some weird glitch (it does occur, but rarely on my machine) that Windows knocks the TeaTimer icon off the taskbar...

But I have this crazy idea (not certain if this resolves your problem, but you can try) to reinstall Spybot-Search&Destroy, reboot, and then uninstall again.

You did not have to uninstall Spybot for the TeaTimer :sad:, I feel you could have disabled it in the Advanced Mode (Spybot) and then re-enable it.

The trouble is with the install. I uninstalled and tried to re-install. It was during the re-install that I received the attached error that I can't get past.
