Files can not be deleted

When I start a scan Spy Bots ask if I want to delete some 600 + files that may interfere with the scan. I click yes and all but 54 files get deleted how do I find out what and where these files are?

This are temp files on your pc.
We recommend to delete all temp files, before strating a scan.
So this function of Spybot does that for you.

Thank very much for taking the time to answer my question, but I was not asking what temporary files are, I was asking where to find them?
Are these the web browsers temp files, Windows temp files, both or Spy Bots temp files?

That are all temp files, like temporary internet files and windows temp files.
Mostly they are stored in your temp files folder.

Usualy in C:/~/User name/local settings/temporary internet files
replace ~ with whatever the string is to get to user directories on your operating system.

As to why they don't delete, they are probably being used by another program. If you do the option where it runs the scan on start up before other programs boot it would probably delete them all.
