For Virtumonde Victims - try AVG, it got rid of mine

Just wanted to suggest AVG to all my fellow victims of Virtumonde. My computer had a bad case of it and other spyware/viruses, and AVG got rid of everything. My computer was so bad off that I was told by a tech guy here to reformat. I had Norton antivirus and Spybot on my system already but they didn't prevent or subsequently remove the problems. AVG can be downloaded for free from http://free.grisoft.com/

Just a reminder that malware removal advice for infections not removed by normal methods, is given by trained helpers in the Malware Removal Forum

Virtumonde often comes with friends and may need manual removal to remove all the hooks.
