Hi

I noticed my search results from google were getting redirected on Wednesday and so immediately ran my anti virus (AVG), spy bot and ad aware. AVG found nothing but spybot and ad aware would not launch, and when I found out that they were being blocked and changed their .exe to spybot_1.exe I could not update their definitions. Variuos web sites such as this one were also being blocked so I downloaded the definitions to another computer and emailed them to gmail and downloaded from there. Both spybot and ad aware found issues, since correcting these I can update their definition files and don't find any sites blocked, however I am still getting redirects and believe the malware is still there. Neither ad aware or spybot report anything now though.
When booting windows on my machine I get "Generic Host Process for Win32 services has encountered a problem and needs to shut down window". This has appeared since I ran spybot and ad aware and caught some issues.

Download TFC to your desktop
  • Close any open windows.
  • Double click the TFC icon to run the program
  • TFC will close all open programs itself in order to run,
  • Click the Start button to begin the process.
  • Allow TFC to run uninterrupted.
  • The program should not take long to finish it's job
  • Once its finished it should automatically reboot your machine,
  • if it doesn't, manually reboot to ensure a complete clean





Please download Malwarebytes from Here or Here

  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.

  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
  • Note: If you receive a notice that some of the items couldn't be removed, that they have been added to the delete on reboot list, please reboot.
Post the report please






  • Download OTL to your desktop.
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
  • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check.

  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt.
      Note:These logs can be located in the OTL. folder on you C:\ drive if they fail to open automatically.
