What has the big G been up to this year?
CADIE (Cognitive Auto-Heuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity) has taken over all of Google's products and has increased product innovation ten fold.
Take a look at what she has done:
Chrome with 3D
Notice the print-out 3D glasses with the 'filled' in blue and red eyepieces
3D browsing = amazing
Note. AFAIK, you cannot download Chrome 3D from Google's servers now, since April Fools has long past. However, I do have a copy of the installer - which I can 'lend':
http://www.mediafire.com/?nnmzymfo3nz (Mediafire hosted, 9.02mb, Windows Vista/XP SP2)
EDIT: Turns out you can still download it from Google: http://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/chrome/cadie/
I had a play around with it but there seems to be no toggle to turn hide the 3D Glasses icon, so after the novelty has run out, you will have to uninstall 3D Chrome and install the 'real' version of Google Chrome.
Here is a good video demonstrating 'Chrome 3D': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1F4d0sHRdc (YouTube)
Google Earth powered by CADIE
Download the tour file and open it in Google Earth and you will find CADIE showing you her favourite holiday hotspots. Eventually she will stop at the submarine (see pic) and you can chat to CADIE. To be quite frank, her conversation skills were as nearly as bad a ELIZA!
GMail - Autopilot
A funny new labs feature for GMail. Wish it were for real!
CADIE also 'made' her own webpage/blog (complete with cool music, pandas and rainbows) and videos on YouTube.
Whatever the intentions of Google - a sneaky way to get users to download their products, perhaps? - a bit of fun lightened up everyone's day and more importantly took minds off worrying about the Conficker.C doomsday
