Help on virus

I hope you all can bear with me here as i'm not particularly great with computers. I seem to have gotten some viruses labeld :Valera/Downloader and LKJH, i have norton antivirus 2005 but it has been updated and i have ran it many times but it cannot find it. I think it's still on my computer because it runs a lot slower than normal and also pop ups keep coming up like some for storageprotector and bestseller. i have no idea what to do i hope someone can help me :sad:
