Help - Spybot running really slowly

Now when I use Spybot (Search & Destroy) it is running really slowly. The orange status bar at the bottom used to run quite quickly, but now it is struggling to get through one a second.
I have the latest version. Can someone please help?
 
It's taking so long to run a check, that recently I haven't ran a full check.

I'm on Windows XP, and yes I haven't sorted the problem since December!

Do you know what the problem is?

Let us know the version and latest detection update.
