How important is security to the average user?

On this forum, you have a group of people who are keenly aware of security threats, malware etc. However, in my business, I deal with business computer users who are under the impression it won't happen to them. Most of their objection is cost related-I'm gonna charge more the deeper I construct the lockdown. Does anyone have any clients or friends who are NOT security enthusiasts and have been a victim of malware, viruses, identity theft? I'm looking for instances of users feeling invulnerable to security risks and then having a security incident. Again, the usual objection is cost. In my opinion, security is an investment. What do you guys think?

I have used SPYBOT for a few years now as a kind of secret weapon in dealing with some of the issues that come up on the job.

To clarify, which version of Spybot-S&D are you using for this.

This particular case I am not using spybot. I can only use software the client has license(s) or has a preference for and I only distribute software that I am authorized to distribute .This is more a general security question. The coolest thing about spybot is that I can run to my own computer and generally find an example of the problem(s) I am facing somewhere in these forums.
