hundreds of xxx.t files

I just had the same problem; I noticed when I'd try to open certain progs (Winamp, Itunes) they'd just crash. Then I realized that for some reason, ZoneAlarm was not in my system tray, so I went to run HijackThis, and noticed several ".t" files in the registry.

I unplugged, went into safe mode and deleted all of them. The files have stopped spawning, but my programs still won't work. I get an error that looks like this when Itunes and Winamp crash:

C:\DOCUME~1\Justin\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER963.tmp.dir00\appcompat.txt

Other programs, like AIM and Warcraft3 run in the background, but don't initialize.

Any additional help in the matter would be appreciated; I can post a HJT log if necessary.
