i have a problem with firefox and ie

hi both internet explora and firefox (new clean install) will not allow me to access the spybot home page or allow spybot to install when i try to install i get the error message
error sending request server name or address could not be resolved
but i can access the site fully with my aol softwear
i have run a full scan with avg and it reports noproblems
any idea's ??
