the tune up utilities show 2 problems that might negatively impact my pc's health.

1.) administrative shares enabled - the TU can automatically fix this by disabling administrative shares.
(is it safe to disable it?. any negative or side effects of turning this off?.)

2.) prefetch data deleted.
description - the file in the prefetch folder, which contain information about the start up process for windows and programs were recently deleted.

- solution,make sure neither you nor your programs deleted the files in prefetch order.
(no automatic fix here, how should i do this?. how can i restore the prefetch folder?.).


i thank you guys for your help in advance. i need first to consult it here before i touch this.
 
Administrative Shares details as security risk (from TuneUp Utilities 2007): Administrative Shares can be security risk because a person who knows your password can access all of your drives, even if they are not explicitly shared.
I've disabled Administrative Shares for this reason.

Prefetch: Files in this folder are removed by some other program for optimizing. What happends after removing prefetch files: At first, the perfomance of computer will be horribly low. However, system still can create prefetch files again and later you will get some higher preformance. Prefetch folder contains some prefetch files for programs which have been removed and they become somehow useless.
Which software do you use for computer optimization (except TU)?
 
To add my two cents: logging in as a share with admin privileges gives full rights/access to the user. A non-admin account can help lessen the impact from any potential malware.

Most of the advice i have seen is to leave the prefetch files alone and let the OS manage them.

if i disabled the administrative shares. how can i enable it again?.
about the administrator. we owned this computer but we dont know what is administrator and the password. so if i will enable the administrative shares again do you think it will ask for the administrator and password.?we owned this computer for so long but we dont know anything about it. ^_^

i only use tuneup utilities 2009. but i use ccleaner only when i uninstall an anti virus software. because it leaves many things after you uninstall it. and revo uninstaller.
 
iam referring to a account that has full admin. privileges and accounts that have lesser non-admin privileges. While using a non-admin account can enhance your security it may not be the same thing that your software is describing as Administrative Shares. If you have the option to disable Administrative shares in the software, it wont hurt to do so.
