Immunization Does Not Recognize Firefox

Hi,md. :) I thought I'd leave a note,in case anyone here using Vista doesn't know,that in Vista,Application Data isn't usually accessible,those using Vista will probably get an access denied message.I usually go into the Mozilla folder this way:
C:\Users\<myname>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

borhes:

That is the default profile not the user profile.

From:
The installation directory includes a folder named "profile" (for example, C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile on Windows), but this folder contains program defaults, not your user profile data. On Windows 2000/XP/Vista and on Linux, the folder containing your user profile data is hidden by default and you will need to show hidden files and folders to navigate to the profile folder.
Spybot recognizes the installation of Firefox by looking for the user profile as PepiMK described. If it can not locate the user profile than it can not immunize Firefox.

See if you can locate your user profile.

To display hidden files in Windows Explorer:
  • In the Tools menu select Folder Options…
  • In the Folder Options dialog select the View tab.
    1. Under the "Hidden files and folders" options:
      • Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected.
      • Not "Do not show hidden files and folders".
    2. If you make a change to these settings, click the Apply button.
    3. Click the OK button.
    4. The files should now be displayed

profiles.ini
C:\Users\IBM\APPDATA\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox

[General]
StartWithLastProfile=1

[Profile0]
Name=default
IsRelative=1
Path=Profiles/3g08lxsv.default

prefs.js

My problem, which prompted me to start the thread is exactly the same as borhes'. Spybot doesn't even realize Firefox is installed. Firefox doesn't show up in the list of browsers to immunize.

Neither does SeaMonkey anymore, though it used to be there. I've started another thread about that one in case it turns out to be from a different cause than yours.

Does anybody know how to solve the problem?

No, but you're not alone. It's especially puzzling because it used to work for me but then disappeared, also I see it still working on other people's systems.

Hello,

I have the same problem. I use Vista 32bit SP1, Firefox 3 beta 5 and Spybot 1.5.5.20.
Spybot don't recognize Firefox. It's strange because Spywareblaster see it. Likewise Spybot recognize very well Opera 9.5 beta 2.

I have reinstalled Spybot and Firefox several times but it's always the same thing. I precize that profiles.ini and prefs.js are existing in the right folders.

I've not this problem with Windows XP, but only with Vista SP1.

Someone has an idea ?

Thank you in advance !

PS : Please excuse my bad english. I'm french !

I have the same problem on one of my computors using Vista ultimate french.

In :

C:\Users\IBM\APPDATA\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

I dont have "3g08lxsv.default".

How can I fix-it so that SpyBot will check Firefox?

Using Mozzila Firefox 3 Beta 5.

In my Laptop, I am also using Vista Ultimate french but don't know why but everything is ok here. Spybot has Mozilla in Immunize.
