Initial update stalled 14 hours

I had to replace my hard drive recently and downloaded spybot free last weekend. When I went to update all of the files it stalled overnight and after running for 14 hours I terminated the upload.

I am using a Dell Laptop Windows 8.1 on a Chrome Browser.

Any ideas?

Sorry to hear of the problem, did you open Spybot by right-clicking on the Spybot icon and choosing the option to “Run as administrator”?
