Introduction to Spybot Identity Monitor…

Next to malware infecting personal computers, hackers started to attack security issues with many online sites in the first decade of this century. This resulted in billions of login credentials being available for trade or free on the Internet.

Services like HaveIBeenPwned make it easy to look up your accounts to check if they are breached - if they are, chances are that someone is using your stolen login data on the same or even other sites if you’ve re-used passwords.

Quick recommendation: use 2FA and/or passkeys wherever possible, do not re-use passwords, use a password manager to store your logins.

Having to look up regularly on a website can be tedious, and letting them store my addresses to notify me about new breaches would leave my data with yet another site.

Spybot Identity Monitor looks up your account in breach databases without your data being stored there. Plus, in addition to HIBP, it searches our own breaches database, which includes some extra breach data.

Should you have data from a yet uncovered breach, create a new post with the Volunteer prefix and get in contact with us to receive a free Spybot Anti-Beacon Plus license (Identity Monitor is completely free).
