Well, nevermind then. I've found a way. Seems that right clicking on the SD Resident System Tray Icon let me access the Resident IE options. I changed it from "Block all pages silently" to "Ask for blocking confirmation", then went back to IWON and when the blocking notice came up, clicked allow, permanently. That seemed to work. The fact that iwon is in the host file seems not to matter.
