Keyboard won't work

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but can anyone help please?

Okay last monday on booting up the PC, my mouse stopping working, first thought it was the batteries, new batteries installed, no joy!!!

So a quick fertle with the Wireless mini receiver it starts working, but the keyboard has now stopped working!

It's still causing problems nearly a week later, I've attempted to remove the settings for the Logitech lazer mouse and MX3200 keyboard and reinstall them, still no joy, phoned Logitech who have kindly sent me a brand keyboard mouse and mini receiver as they disagnosed it as a dead keyboard. New received installed, along with Keyboard again still nothing.
Brother suggest USB Keyboard and mouse, purchased yesterday, installed, mouse working, but still no keyboard.

So I'm currently using the wifes account on the same PC and hey presto, both wireless mouse and keyboard work along with the USB items...so what is wrong? It's only affecting my account on the same PC.

I've run the following anti virus, adware and security stuff. I've even done a system restore, this would not work straight away, but would once Norton Antivirus had been removed. Running Windows Vista Home Premium Edition 32 Bit.

Norton Anti virus/Internet security
AVG has been downloaded and installed
Threatfire
Housecall 6.6 (this never gave me a report)
Ad aware
Windows Defender
Microsoft Onecare (this would not run with Norton Anivirus) but this did find this Joke :Win32/Flash.A
Plus on booting up this morning gave an error that it would not run with AVG so I've removed it and re-installed Norton.

Threatfire also found this C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Application\$ FlashFS.now

I'm now stuck as nothing seems to be working and it's now taking up too much time. :surrender:

Oh I had no warnings of any untoward happening either... chicken

Any help or advice would be most welcome.... Smiley

First you need to remove all but one of the anti virus programs, rule of thumb is one Firewall/AntiVirus to avoid conflicts and loss of program efficiency.

Do you also have more than one firewall enabled?

Best regards.

Hi Tashi,

Quick question, which should I keep from my list?

Only one Firewall installed, but I believe my router also has one (it is secure well as far as I know)

Thanks:thanks:

This thread may prove useful: anti virus

You didn't mention your operating system, but make sure the native firewall (for instance XP, Vista) is disabled if using a third party software firewall. :)

Operating system is Windows Vista 32 bit, Premium Home Edition.

I'll check out that other post when I'm off on Thursday as I'll have more time..:bigthumb:

Okay, I ran Norton anti Virus (Full system scan) the other night, but in stead of speeding through, it would hang on certain files, so sad me sat and watched the initial part through, but I did note some of the files it would "hang" on, these are some of them, W32.Sality.U, W32.MyTob.AA@MM, Trojan.Perfcoo, Adware.Maxsearch, ProSysPwdRecovery and Adware.Cacb. Now does this mean my system is infected with this virus/problems? At then end of the scan, it was clean?

TIA....Wayne;)

Have you uninstalled all but one of the anti virus programs? If so, did that resolve the original problem?

At then end of the scan, it was clean?
Link to the Norton forums if you need support for their program. ;)

Regards.
