The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Fraud.ComputerDefender2009" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Fraud.ComputerDefender2009 claims to be an antispyware tool. When it is installed to the computer it finds a lot of harmless entries in order to frighten the user to make him buy a license to get the issue fixed.​
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "Computer Defender 2009" and pointing to "<$APPDATA>\Computer Defender 2009\cd2009.exe".
  • Entries named "Computer Defender 2009" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Computer Defender 2009\cd2009.exe".
Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$APPDATA>\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Computer Defender 2009.lnk".
  • The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Computer Defender 2009\Computer Defender 2009.lnk".
  • The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Computer Defender 2009\Order Full Version NOW!.lnk".
  • The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Computer Defender 2009\Visit Computer Defender 2009 Homepage.lnk".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Computer Defender 2009\cd2009.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Computer Defender 2009\hp.url".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Computer Defender 2009\license.rtf".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Computer Defender 2009\order.url".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.ComputerDefender2009 uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.
  • The directory at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Computer Defender 2009".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Computer Defender 2009".

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • Delete the registry key "Computer Defender 2009" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
If Fraud.ComputerDefender2009 uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
