Win32.Sality.gen is a multi purpose Trojan. First it is a polymorphic file infector. Once run it infects executable files with an 'exe' and 'scr' extension. Secondly it installs a system driver or a library to monitor the network traffic. In such a way it opens a backdoor to the system. It connects to a remote command and control server in order to download further instructions and malware. Win32.Sality.gen creates autorun entries and disables security settings in the registry. Win32.Sality.gen files are dropped to the system and well hidden from the user to ensure a permanent infection.

- Delete the registry key "amsint32" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\".
- Delete the registry key "Qurdk" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
