new version (non-)notification and upgrading

Shouldn't Spybot tell me when a new version comes out? I've been using v1.4 and only because I was bored and came to spybot's website did I find out there's now a v1.5.1. In addition, there's no message telling me to uninstall old version first (or automating the process).

It says on this page it's not strictly necessary to uninstall Spybot 1.4 before installing 1.5,unless you'd really rather not have 2 entries in the uninstall list.
