Newbi kind of question

Hi Everybody,

I hope someone can help me with this.

I have an adware/malware that has appeared on my computer.
I use Windows 7 and Explorer 9

When I start explorer, as well as open a new tab I will get a pop up kind of window saying "WE RECOMMEND.." and then offering an install button for various PC Health products.

My home page is set to google.ca and the popup will occur before the google logo appears on the screen. Actually, the popup prevents the logo from appearing.

I have no idea if this is a simple sales offer interruption, or if there are other spyware components as well.

The current "SpyBot" does not appear to find anything.

Any advice?

For someone to take a look at the system and advise please start a topic in the Malware Removal Forum

First see that forum's FAQ which also includes instructions in post #2 on how to provide DDS and aswMBR logs, which are used in the preliminary analysis.

It sounds as if you've been infected with a fake anti-virus.What I would reccommend trying is running the Kasbersky Virus removal tool from here.http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/virus-removal-tools It's also highly reccommended to restart IE and get a fresh new start from it,"Open up Internet Explorer, click on Tools then Internet Options. When the Internet Options box appears, click the Advanced tab. Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. A box opens up - Then click Reset again. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close then close again. Restart Internet Explorer. " Hope this somehow helps.Feel free to message me for further assistance.
