Hello, I am new to this sort of thing so I would appreciate your help and patience. I recently ran Spybot and it found several problems that won't go away. The most recent scan produced a smitfraud-c and several variations of virtumonde. After browsing through the forums it looks like the solution to these is pretty complicated and I am not sure where to begin. Do I have to worry about my credit card accounts being hacked into and stolen if I accessed them while infected? Should I stop loging in to anything? Will it affect my picture or music files? Can it get into my external hard drive? I am tempted to just reformat and start over, unless you think you could help me with this.
I noticed the use of something called HijackThis which I am unfamiliar with. Could you please explain and possibly help me mitigate these concerns?
