I have mostly removed an infection I'm not sure how I got it but it changed the registry so that hidden files could not seen and removed the option in folder options.
Now the DVD/CD drive does not show any contents when a disk is inserted. Pretty sure the drive is OK as it worked fine last time - very recently - and makes all the right noises etc.
Hope this is enouugh to go on and HJT file attached if any use ?
