Hi
I have installed Spybot 2.3 on new computer and I have problem with signature update. This is what occurs:
[00:00.000] Update started...
[00:00.000] [+] Updating Service is active.
[00:00.000] [.] Trying to retrieve update info file from http://updates2.safer-networking.org/spybotsd2.uid...
[00:00.380] [+] Retrieved update info file.
[00:00.820] [.] Info file part done.
[00:00.880]
[00:00.880] [!] Execute: Format '% ' invalid or incompatible with argument

And nothing happens.
I have Windows 7 and just installed EMET. I don't know if this happens before installing Emet.
Help please!

problems

here"s what i'm getting

on the system scan window:
"some database signatures are missing.
signatures are not part of your installation; they are downloaded as part of the update process.
av\Plugins\7zip.xmd
av\Plugins\e_spyw.i00
av\Plugins\e_spyw.i49"

so i go to update, then i get this:

"an error occurred during antivirus updates!
[00:00.000] Update started...
[00:05.668] [+] Installing antivirus signature updates...
[00:06.229] [-] Failed to install Spybot 2 antivirus signatures!
[00:06.230] [-] Failed to install Spybot 2 antivirus signatures!"

I am getting exactly the same thing and it causes SCAN to not be available. Please HELP!

It's doing the same thing to me. Tried everything I could think of, firewall and anti virus, as administrator... no joy.

Workaround for this Problem

Hello all,

I have this problem also. Here is a workaround that worked for me:

1. With the computer on and you logged in, physically unplug it from your power strip. Count to 5 and re-plug it in.
2. Turn on computer, you should get the 'Windows did not shut down properly" screen
3. Select "Safe Mode with Networking". The computer will boot in basic mode, about 1024x 768 resolution.
4. Launch your Spybot and press on to Update
5. The antivirus files will now install !!!!

6. (Optional) I chose to do my full scan immediately. It took about an hour, but seemed to work. This may be fastest as many processes are not loaded in the safe mode.

Not exactly a fun way to do it, but it did the job. Good luck to all.

they sent me this this morning:

We are presently experiencing problems with the updater facility of Spybot +AV.
Our technicians are hoping to have the problem fixed by end of business today.
