Problem with Zoom Player

When I run a system scan it gets as far as Zoom player and stops.I have left it all day and it remains at that point. If I restart it the same thing happens. I then removed Zoom from my computer but Spybot still does the same thing, telling me it has reached Zoom Player, which I no longer have.

This is a well known problem - see https://forums.spybot.info/threads/spybot-2-9-gets-stuck-when-scanning-for-zoom-player.78053/ I have no idea if Safer Networking is working to solve it as there has been no update since June 2025. Maybe this thread will get some action when all the others have failed.

Also, the problem won't be due to Zoom, the video conferencing programme. Zoom Player is the name of some piece of malware that Spybot is searching for. So you can safely reinstall Zoom if you need it.
