you should remember spybot is still free, and i doubt, too many ppl donate, so be happy its contiued for free at all, i have seen many free software go. but now its really a long time since they started at spybot 2 and the last 3 updates - honestly - have not brought very much new or better, the only was a lost of functions. and yes rc1 seems like a joke, it contains a licence for pro-feautures, but non of this are included, so i ask myself, why we need a licence for testing, if nothing to test is there. btw. if i assume the release shedule of the last releases, i guess the next beta will come out at Septembre/Octobre
