Repair Broken System Entries

Hi!

I just installed Spybot S&D 2 onto my system and have some questions, if you please? But, first some background. On Tuesday I was having problems shutting my system down because of

“Access Violation at Address 00423B70 in module ComcastAntiSpy.exe. Write of addresses 0000000D.”

At the time I tried everything, trying to utilize the following programs:

1. Spybot Search & Destroy
2. AVAST
3. Windows Destroyer
4. Malware Byte’s

None of the programs were finding the problem. So, I contacted both AVAST and SpyBot S&D, requesting help. Below is what they could not find initially:

When I sent Susan, from Spybot S&D, all of the reports –to include the one from “HiJackThis,” I received a reply from Susan telling me that she found yet another virus and to download a program and send the results back to her. So, I did. When I tried to send the file via GMAIL it would not send it because the file did indeed contain a virus. I had to use my Windows Live Email. I am still waiting on a reply which I will probably get tomorrow.

In the meantime, I went to Spybot Search and Destroy's website and downloaded the Beta version of S&D. And, it is here that I would like to ask what the following means and what exactly does it entail?

When you do a system repair, what does mean by “Repair broken system entries” and how safe is it to do so? Thank you.

Well, my apologies on screwing up your name. People do that with my last mane all the time, but I am used to it. Now, let's get get down to the business at hand, shall we?

Yesterday you sent me back an email stating that I still had a virus and to download that simple program and send you back the report. So, I followed your instructions.

Today all I get from Spybot Search and Destroy is a chastisement for posting, but no solution to my computer’s virus. Incidentally, I sent that same file to AVAST’s third party tech support and got no response in return: Just like with you organization.

Therefore, I am awfully glad that I didn't purchase either software, because if I had and I still have this virus on my system and both programs are unable to find it, I would really be upset.

So, am I to assume that this is as far as your customer service and tech support is going to go: Nowhere?!? How typical of all software companies.

"Hey, let's create this software that doesn't do diddly, charge people for it and reap the profits. Who cares if the software doesn't perform to its so-called potential."

It that about right Sandra?

I read your post in the Tavern-section. I just have to be honest, what a sick and rude bastard you are. Give the people some credit and respect for even spend time on you. And as I wrote in your tavern-thread, get some knowledge before you even say something. Spybot isn't a paid software, it's a freeware. Idiot.
