I am having multiple problems with my laptop. I have a Toshiba pre-installed with Vista.
All of a sudden, the internet on the laptop stopped working. I have a desktop computer as well, and the internet on the other computer was working fine.
Anytime I re-started my laptop, the following error message pops up from Microsoft Windows:
Host Process for Windows Services Stopped Working and was Closed.
Then, I get a pop up from Norton Anti-Virus, saying:
Auto-Protect Experienced an Unexpected Error, 0x000003E8
Everything freezes and I can't even shut down the computer and have to wait for the battery to drain.
I have tried re-starting it in 'Safe Mode with Networking'.
I've tried going into the Event Log on the laptop to see what exactly happened, but an error message comes up saying Event Log is not functioning.
I've tried downloading Malewarebytes on my desktop and transferred it onto my laptop. It would not work on the laptop. After some extensive Googling, I renamed the Malware Program files on my computer. In Safe Mode, Malware is now doing a scan.
The scan came up with two objects which required attention. I put them into Quarantine.
I ran Dr.WebCure It and it has shown me a Trojan. However, it says it is Incureable.
I have run both MalwareBytes and Dr. CureIt. The problem remains the same.
I have rebooted and the same Host Process message is popping up and the same error from Norton Anti-Virus is popping up. The internet still will not work as the same DHCP Failure message is appearing. I have tried to reset the IP address but that will not work either.
I have the log from Dr. CureIt but the page keeps crashing any time I try and paste it. Will try in a seperate message below.
