first of all I know next to zip about computers. my problem is that ive uninstalled spybot because it changed my settings,background,colors,time ect...when i installed it again from filehippo its the same thing except there was a blank screen with an icon giving me the finger repeated across the screen then it flashed lime green for a few seconds then the computer went dead, when i hard started it again my avast antivirus was gone! after a lot of stuffing around it came back? anyone got any ideas on how to fix this thing properly?:rockon:

Your first description sounds like a viral infection... which of course is definitely not Spybot's doing. In addition, don't be too hasty in making conclusions and pointing fingers to which program "did" this and that. Worry about cleaning the mess up. This seems pretty ugly, as your AV is disabled and your screensaver/wallpaper is messed up.
