Spybot Wants To Be Paid To Complete Scan

Hi There. I'm trying to figure out why the one computer I installed Spybot on is not finishing the scan because it wants to be payed. I'm sure Spybot is free and all, but I am confused as to why it wants money to complete a scan. Does anybody have any advice as how to stop this? On the other computer I ran it on, it came up with over 7,000 items, which I know is bad, but how can I stop it from asking me to pay? Any advice would help. Thanks!

gmd... Sorry to hear that. My best guess is a "rogue" Spybot was installed to your computer.

The "genuine" Spybot is:

There is no "activation code" for Spybot and it does not have to be registered. Spybot is free for non-corporate users.

The official Spybot is download from the mirrors in that link.

First, remove ALL traces of the "rogue" Spybot from your computer. Can you see it from the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS window?

Edit:

Spybot is free for personal and home use.

The 7,000 detected entries?! That's ridiculous. Those were "false positives". Ignore them for now.

First tell me how it goes.

Welcome to the forums.
