spybot wont load

I used spybot 1.4 for a couple yrs. with no problem and I downloaded 1.62 and now it wont complete the loading could anyone help me please? Oh I am using windows XP and have tried reloading and removing spybot several times with no luck.

Did you un-install Spybot 1.4 before installing Spybot 1.6.2 ? I always recommend that.

I would like you to download Spybot 1.6.2 from here. Then un-install Spybot completely from your computer, reboot, and install Spybot 1.6.2. Do you now still have problems?

Can you give us more details?
Which other security tools do you have installed on your computer?
Do you have Sings of Malware?

I uninstalled 1.4 before installing 1.62 and I think I do have a malware problem .I am running antivir pe classic.before I installed 1.62 I had no problems running 1.4.I uninstalled and reinstalled from the link you have and still it will not load completely.progress bar will come up and get to the last bar but it will not load..

Consider posting in the Malware Removal forum and having someone take a look at your system.

If you decide to have an experienced malware removal specialist assist you, please follow the procedure in this link to run scans and produce a HijackThis log:After you have completed the required scans and produced the requested logs, start your own thread in the Malware Removal forum, making sure to post the HijackThis log produced from the above instructions.

As for Spybot-SD not being able to load (it's disable by malware :sad:), read this thread:
