Spybot won't Run

I have a computer that's been having some problems. I'm getting the feeling that it's spyware of some sort that's causing the problems. I've already installed AVG and checked for any viruses and have removed many that were on the computer, but I still can not search the internet and the system is running very slow. I believe I still have spyware on the system. So, I've installed spybot. The task manager and the task bar both show Spybot, however, when I click to open spybot, it does not run.

I've tried rebooting and many of the other basics to get it to run, but all that happens is the hour glass comes up for maybe 10-15 seconds and then nothing. I need this computer scanned so I might be able to remove the problems.

Any suggestions?

Brian

Can you try renaming the Spybot desktop icon? If that doesn't work, you might need to execute Spybot from the Programs folder (a randomly named .scr file; and it is a hidden protected system file so you'll have to enabled view for hidden files).

As for the malware, I would suggest you get it cleared out in the Malware Removal Forums:
Consider posting in the Malware Removal forum and having someone take a look at your system.
