Greetings helpers and thanks in advance. Having looked through your site you guys do great work I sincerely hope you can help with this problem.
It all started when I downloaded a file I thought at the time was a security update, it was well disguised! I then had a windows safety alert virus which appeared to take up any remaining space on my C drive. I then bought eScan Anti-Virus by Focus? Don't know if you have heard of it, when I installed and ran a scan it seemed to pick up a few things which I tried to delete using the software but the icons still appeared in the desktop and I could not remove the software using add/remove programs.
Since running the scan with the eScan software I now have an error message on startup which reads C:\WINDOWS\system32\fikepte.dll. Specified module could not be found? Any ideas?
I have downloaded and ran spybot F&D after installing all the updates in normal and safe mode. I still have the SPYLOCKED icon flashing away even in safe mode. I have deleted all items which appeared in the scan.
