Still Locking up

I cleared spyware from computer using methods other than S&D because S&D locks up during scan. What is causing the lock up; not sure what info to post for you to determine what the problem is. Would appreciate some advice on this problem.

There can be various reasons for this problem.

You did non mention which version you run.

Perhaps you have an older version than 1.4.
Perhaps you do not have the latest updates.
Perhaps you do have too much temporary files.
Perhaps you run a system with Hyperthreading Technology.

As is said - it could be more than one reason.
And without any information we can not figure it out.

I'm running Spybot 1.4 in Windows XP. I also have Norton Systemworks installed. This is the 3rd or 4th download of 1.4 since it started locking up on the scan.
A few days ago, some spyware got into my system, but I cleaned that out using software that this site recommended. I now have Spyblaster installed, CC Cleaner, AVG, and Ad-Aware scanware.
I clean my temp files (and other junk) regularly using Norton cleaner or I use the tool ap. I run 500+ mb of RD ram, but co-incidently I notice when S&D locks up my computer shows 100% usuage of computer resources.
I don't know what else to tell you. I hope the information I have supplied is sufficient for you to advice something.
