The AVG Free GUI Bug

Update: The bug has been fixed in version 8.0.233 -

I have recently installed AVG anti-virus Free 8.0.176 on a machine when I discovered a pretty big GUI (general user interface) bug.

Look here:

To replicate the bug. just go into the license section and you will see that the 'Register' button overlaps the 'Back' button

To be quite honest, I was surprised that even though this software is used by '80 million users'*, obvious bugs like these are still not ironed out.

Subsequently, I reported the bug on the AVG Free forums, but was surprised to hear that no employees from AVG Technologies actually actively take part in the forums, only oversee.

Anyway, I was later told my comment should have been seen by the AVG Team and that it would be fixed in the next program update. Lets hope so! ;)

Lol!
Maybe they have accidentally added some "glue" to Register and Back button and squashed them. But it's nice (if all of buttons are like that!)

Avg gets worse every day, thats why i don't use it. So many ppl recommend it, yet avast and antivir beat Avg in daily test results all the time. Antivir is the top antivirus so far in detection rates, avast is second. But I use avast because it updates more frequently. Avast was also the first antivirus that could detect that really bad worm that was going around. According to there website. Now thats what i expect from an antivirus solution. =]

Great article. It is really interesting and has helped me. I would really like to see more posts regarding antiviruses, antispywares and registry cleaners and optimizers (like jv16 PowerTools 2009). We need to keep our computers asafe and secure, in order to be error-free and run smoother and faster.
