The service.sbs.file is missing

I just downloaded Spybot since my system is infected with all kinds of would
sell u anti-virusn anti-spyware sellers. In effect running spybot showed these intruders and stated that they were removed. in fact they are not removed. Only at the beginning of the scan I get this message :

Service check :
The services.sbs file is missing Please use the...

Is there an explanation to what I should do to recover the sbs.file ? Is this the cause the removal of the pests totally failed ?:oops:

This error occurs if you used a beta version before installing Spybot-S&D version 1.4.
Please remove the following directories:
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Includes
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Updates
After downloads please use the update function to download all detection files. If this doesn't solve the problem please uninstall your current version of Spybot-S&D according to this link:

It is important to use the small fix.

I'm getting the same error with the same (lack of) results. It's a new non-beta install that worked in the past on other computers.

The resolution to this problem is worth mentioning.

Yesterday (with my new install of 1.4 on a "clean" computer) had a problem updating. Two updates were "bad checksum" from any site.

Today doing a manual update from the main spybot site fixed the "service.sbs file missing" error. All seems to be working well.
