too many deleted files

I was just searching (forgot what for now) but anyway I input *.* in the "seaech for files" space and it responded with 33,899 files. Many I recgonized as being deleted many months ago. Question, can these be deleted again, or how can I go about getting rid of so many files. all suggestions appreciated.

*.* will show every file on your hard drive.

There are many reasons why files that you deleted have come back.
Unless you are having any problems the chances are that most, if not all, are needed.

What sort of file did you delete that has returned ?

Appears most were from my favorites which I didn't need anymore like; NTSB, Gov, FAA, Aviation Circulars, RVSM operators & etc. These I deleted from the search findings & they did not re-appear. The others I left intact. Probably a good idea after reading your reply. I will leave well enough alone, & consider I learned a little. Thanks for your reply & info.
